Q.3 How far does Cuffs adapt police drama conventions to fit its family audience at 8 p.m. on BBC1?

Cuffs adapts the police drama genre conventions quite a bit to fit family friendly conventions. This allows them to be shown at 8 o'clock which is before the 9 o'clock watershed. These family oriented changes can be seen, when that normally there would be lots of violence in the police dramas genre as is of the genre convention, this could involve lots of blood and guns, but cuffs never shows any graphic violence and only implies it off screen, allowing for the show to be air at 8 pm just before the 9 o clock water shed. In the episode there is a fight but no blood is spilled and the man is taken out quickly and cleanly by a blunt object, further limiting the violence that is displayed

Another way that genre conventions are adapted for the show to be aired before the 9 o'clock watershed, is that there is no foul language or nudity or drugs. Normally in this genre there is lots of foul language and maybe nudity but no foul language is said by the cast but in cuffs and there is no nudity not even by the naturalists in the extract. This allows the show to be deemed family friendly. Also in a Brighton around the youth population there is likely to be drugs but no drugs are displayed in the entire episode.

A third way that this can be seen is in the humour of the show, this humour provides escapism for the viewer because it allows the show to not be all serious and have some light heartedness. In the extract the chief super intendant says “positive daily interactions with the public” and is meaning the officers, but out side the window on the beach is the fight in which no one respects the officer or thanks him for trying to help them. This making the show enjoyable and family friendly enough for it to be judged suitable to be shown be for the water shed line at 9 o clock.

03 website new idea

The new idea would be a hobby website about mountain biking. it could be called The Way Down.

Dummy Title Ideas.

26 inch or 29 inch, learn  the difference. with tyre sizes getting larger to accommodate bigger and bigger bikes we though we would do a run down on the different sizes.

How many gears are two many? For all aspiring bikers we would like to help you find the optimal gear ratio for your way to ride.

03 News video

In my News video I could do an intro with Mr Ellis talking about the Claremont disease. it could talk about a new disease which involves pupils constantly cutting and sticking and piece of paper or sheet given to them. Another idea for a segment could be that Gamers have scored better on tests than non gamers or The news of Gaming and informing people of the Gambling in outboxes and what they can do to stop this horrible practise. there could be a section on animal news and what is going on in the animal kingdom or with pets at home.

I could also cover up coming games like the new Warhammer total war 3 or other upcoming games and the problems with the production and distribution of the PS5.  :)

Total war: https://www.creative-assembly.com/blog/total-war-warhammer-iii-announced

it could be called the web surfer. as in a play on words of people surfing the web.

03 News video

I could do a news program talking about the goings on in the world including gaming to interest young people and talk about developments in it. I could show in game footage an talk about i am going to have an interview with a representative from EA. It will feature plenty of jokes to keep people interested whilst conveying a message. the intro would be upbeat to reflect the young audience.

It would be called the The Web Surfer

03 website planning

for my idea for a website plan would be on gaming. it would include news about the going ons in the gaming world from WOW to Destiny. it would also talk about certain laws passed about gaming as well as reviews.

It would be called the Console

03 creating media

my second choice would be a website based around Warhammer. i could take photos of my models and post them on it. i could also use a green screen for the video. i could put my mod3ls in front of the greenscreen. in the website i could write articles about painting and modelling. how to build scenery and other things.

03 PREFERRED CHOICE

My idea would me making a factual opening about a gaming news program called POP culture. it will  talk about what is happening in the news of gaming and media. it would be very light hearted. unlike my previous suggestion (sorry). it would open with a presenter like most news programs.

03 creating media

For my Hobby magazine it would be on Warhammer with pictures of my models and the board that I made. with articles about how to paint models shown and build the scenery and lore of the models featured in the magazine.

For my Factual opening it would be about increased in suicide rates in young men. we would cover a boy who killed himself because feminists at his school petitioned to remove international men's day. and a building of a clinic for suicidal men.

For my music video I would choose demons by imagine dragons. it is very dark song with a very deep and dark meaning

for my hobby website I would have a nice cinematic Warhammer video showcasing my models. as well as posts about news in Warhammer.
