Comparison of TD and SB by Jack Johnson
Music videos use editing to differ from each other, in
sk8ter boy for editing is lots of fast cut and you go through very fast whilst
in Teenage dirt bag the editing is slow and follows with the lyrics apart from
cuts to the band. Another way is the camera angles, SB uses fast handheld cameras
with desaturated colour which is unlike TD because that contains slow cameras especially
in the narrative parts and saturated colour. SB represents Women as powerful
and not as the Stereotype of love interests whilst TD is all about failed love
and romance. The overall style of SB is that of breaking away from society and
the Punk genre. Whilst TD is all about how hard it is to find love and this
boys imagination.
